Books

During his career, Dr. Salyer has contributed more than two hundred peer-reviewed articles and chapters to the scientific literature and authored and co-authored eight books, including the seminal, two-volume Atlas of Craniofacial and Cleft Surgery , published in 2024. He has made more than a thousand presentations at national and international congresses, and is currently president of the International Cleft Palate Foundation.

Associations

Dr. Salyer has served leadership rolesin numerous national and international professional societies. He is past-president of the International Society of Craniofacial Surgery, the American Society of Maxillofacial Surgery, andthe American Society of Craniofacial Surgery; past chairman of the Plastic Surgery Research Council and the American Academy of Pediatrics Section of Plastic Surgery. Currently, Dr. Salyer serves on the board of trustees of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.

Dr. Salyer has appeared on many national television programs, including the Oprah Winfrey Show, Regis and Kathy Lee, the Les Brown Show, Leeza, Dateline NBC, the Discovery Channel, Connie Chung LIVE, Good Morning America, the Today show, and a CNN series on craniofacial surgery. His charitable work with children around the world was featured in a cover story in Parade , as well as on the front page of the New York Times .
